The well-known American wine critic, James Suckling, after tasting our wines, improved the scores of Muri Veteres and Carchelo Viñedos de Pueblo with respect to previous vintages.
This is how he evaluated our wines after the tasting:
Muri Veteres (93 points): “This is a flavorful and juicy red that has notes of strawberries, oranges, chili chocolate and sweet spices on the nose. It’s full-bodied with a delicious core of red and orange fruits framed by fine tannins. Vegan. Drink now or hold”.
Vina Maris Selected (93 points): “A savory, lightly spicy and flavorful red that has olives, mushrooms, black fruit and spice box on the nose. It’s medium- to full-bodied with mellow, silky tannins and a long, lightly salty finish. Monastrell, cabernet sauvignon, syrah and tempranillo. This wine was aged in bottle underwater. 2,267 bottles produced”.
Altico (92 points): “A juicy, mellow and fruit-driven syrah with aromas of dark cherries, cured meat and mild spices on the nose, following through to a medium body with fine tannins. Lively and bright at the center, with a polished texture and a flavorful, succulent finish. From organically grown grapes. Vegan”.
Vina Maris -white wine- (92 points): “A Jumilla verdejo and sauvignon blanc aged six months under the sea. Fresh, crisp and lightly minerally, with neutral green stone fruit, limes and a touch of guavas. Zesty and textured, with a medium body, fine lees and neutral, chalky substance in a medium-long finish”.
Carchelo Viñedos de Pueblo (91 points): “A juicy, balanced and textural monastrell showing notes of cherries, sweet berries and grilled herbs on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins. Supple texture with a vivid, berry-loaded finish and a lift of spices bringing vitality. From organically grown grapes. Vegan.”
Carchelo Ciento80 (91 points): “Blackberries, black cherries and some roasted dark spices on the nose follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate with good freshness. Tight and fruity finish with medium length. From organically grown grapes. Vegan”.
Guarafía (91 points): “A juicy, bright and succulent red with aromas of sour cherries, pomegranates and cinnamon. It’s medium-bodied with sleek tannins. Supple and crunchy with a delicious red currant character in the finish”
